Union Public Service Commission has issued NDA & NA Examination 2012 notification for entry into Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 129th Course, and for the 91st Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from December 2012. Union Public Service Commission is inviting online applications for National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I) 2012 which is going to be conducted by UPSC on 15th April, 2012
for admission to the Army, Navy and Air Force wings of the NDA for the 129th
Course, and for the 91st Indian Naval Academy Course (INAC) commencing from
December 2012.

UPSC National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I) 2012 eligibility criteria


To apply for UPSC NDA & NA 1 examination 2012 for Army wing of National Defence Academy candidate must be 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent examination conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

To apply for UPSC NDA & NA 1 examination 2012 for Air Force and Naval Wings of NDA and for the 10+2 Cadet Entry Scheme at the Indian Naval Academy candidate must be 12th Class pass of the 10+2 pattern of School Education or equivalent with Physics and Mathematics conducted by a State Education Board or a University.

Only unmarried male candidates born not earlier than 2nd January, 1994 and not later than 1st July, 1996 are eligible.

Age Limit to apply for UPSC NDA & NA 1 examination 2012: Candidates born between 02-01-1994 to 01-07-1996 are eligible for apply.

How to apply for UPSC National Defence Academy & Naval Academy Examination (I) 2012


The eligible candidates may apply online through http://upsconline.nic.in/ website before 30-01-2012. The applicants are advised to submit only single application; however, if due to any unavoidable situation, if he submits another/multiple applications, then he must ensure that application with the higher RID is complete in all respects like applicants’ details, examination centre, photograph, signature, fee etc. The applicants who are submitting multiple applications should note that only the applications with higher RID (Registration ID) shall be entertained by the commission and fee paid against one RID shall not be adjusted against any other RID

Application fee for UPSC NDA & NA 1 examination 2012 is Rs 50/- for General/OBC candidates. Fee exempted for SC/ST/JCOs/NCOs/ORs. Pay fee in SBI through DD or internet banking.

UPSC NDA & NA Examination(I)2012 examination pattern


The UPSC NDA & NA 1 2012 recruitment written exam has two subjects Mathematics (300 marks) and General ability (600 marks), the time duration given to each subject will be two and a half hours. Candidates should note that there will be penalty (negative marking) for wrong answers marked by a candidate in the objective type question papers.

The NDA Maths syllabus will have questions from Algebra, Analytical Geometry, Differential Calculus, Mensuration Integral Calculus and Differential equations, Matrices and Determinants, Probability, Statistics, Trignometry and Vector.

UPSC NDA & NA Examination(I)2012 written test syllabus for General ability


The NDA General ability exam syllabus have two parts, Part A which is on English for 200 marks and Part B on General Knowledge for 400 marks. The Part B questions will have from Section A (Physics), Section B (Chemistry), Section C (General Science), Section D (History, Freedom Movement etc.), Section E (Geography), Section F (Current Events).

UPSC NDA & NA Examination(I)2012 selection procedure


Two-stage selection procedure based on Psychological Aptitude Test and
Intelligence Test has been introduced at Selection Centers/Air Force Selection Boards. Only those candidates who qualify at stage one will be admitted to the second stage/remaining tests. Those candidates who qualify stage II will be required to submit the original Certificates along with
one photocopy each of:(I)original Matriculation pass certificate or equivalent in support of date of birth, (ii) Original 10+2 pass certificate or equivalent in support of educational qualification.
