Parliament house in Delhi
Parliament house of Delhi is also called Sansad Bhawan. It is situated at the last point of famous Sansad Marg of delhi. Parliament house was opened in 1927. It is actually a circular structure which was designed by Herbert Baker. This famous structure has nearly 247 pillars. Legislative Assembly of India is held in Parliament house of Delhi.
Parliament House or Sansad Bhawan also allows the general public to enter but only by receiving permits from the reception office in Raisina Road of New Delhi. Also, buses are strictly restricted to run near the Parliament house. Only taxis, auto rickshaws and cars are allowed to run near it. The largest democracy of the world runs in Parliament House of New Delhi.
The Parliament house consists of two houses of Parliament Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha.The members of Parliament are officially called the MP's. Actually these are the original body of government which controls the whole country.
Structure of Parliament House
The Parliament house in New Delhi is Circular in shape. Parliament house is having 144 columns along with a 28 m central dome. This famous structure has nearly 247 pillars. It is made of sandstone which is of nearly 174 m. Also, the Sansad Bhawan is enclosed by red sandstone wall which are very attractive.
How to reach Parliament house in New Delhi
One can easily reach Parliament house of New Delhi by taking a taxi or auto Rickshaw. Buses are not allowed to run near the Sansad Bhawan. The nearest railway station is New Delhi Railway Station.
