Haridwar may not be connected through direct train from all over India but Kumbh mela is one of the most holy event and comes after 12 hours. So most of the tourist comes to Delhi. Journey time from Delhi to Haridwar is about 4 hours by train. There are several trains from Delhi to Dehradun which goes via haridwar. Trains for Haridwar are available from all stations of Delhi, like New Delhi, Old Delhi, Nizamuddin and Sarai Rohilla.

Special trains from Delhi to Haridwar will run every day for three months during Kumbh Mela. Other trains from Delhi to Haridwar which are regular are

Dehradun Shatabdi train (2017) originate from New Delhi station and departure time is 06:50 AM and reaches Haridwar at 11.25 AM. It is everyday and consist of AC chair car. Passenger in waiting list are not allowed to enter the train.

Dehradun Janshatabdi (2055) starts from New Delhi at 15.25 hrs and reaches Haridwar at 19.30 Hrs. It is also everyday and has AC chair car and 2S that is second class sitting which consist of reserved and unreserved compartment.

Nizamuddin Dehradun AC special train (2205A) to haridwar starts from Nizamuddin at 23:55 hours and reaches Haridwar at 3.55 morning. It is whole AC train running only on Saturday from Nizamuddin and have 1stAC, 2nd AC and 3rd AC.

Mussoorie Express (4041) starts from Sarai Rohilla, Delhi at 21:05 hours and reaches Haridwar at 5.52 AM. It is a prestigious train from Delhi to haridwar and is everyday having 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC, sleeper class as well as general class.

Dehradun Express (9019) starts from Nizamuddin at 5.45 AM and reaches Haridwar at 15.20 hours. It is everyday from Nizamudin and has only sleeper and general class.

Haridwar mail (9105) originates from Delhi Cantt station at 4.40 AM and reaches Haridwar at 12.30 PM. 1st AC, 2nd AC, 3rd AC and sleeper class is available in Haridwar mail and runs everyday.

Uttaranchal mail (9265) runs only single day in a week that is on Friday and starts at 11.30 AM from New Delhi and reaches Haridwar at 4.47 PM. It has only AC 2nd and sleeper class plus general class.

Utkal express (8477) starts from Nizamuddin at 14.35 hours and reaches the destination of Kumbh Mela that is Haridwar at 20.30 hours. It is everyday and has 2nd AC, 3rd AC and sleeper class, general class is also there.
